On the Hoof – Pony Girl by Jules

Julie Ashby unveils a biographical tale that tells of the link between horses and humans in rehabilitation; an uplifting story of triumph over adversity.

Julie had spent a life around horses and was physically active and fit all her life, competing in competitions, schooling and riding her own horses. Then, she received a devastating diagnosis which changed the path of her life forever.

On the Hoof – Pony Girl is Julie’s story, telling of her affinity with horses and the part they played in piecing her life back together. It acknowledges the important role the RDA plays in peoples’ lives and credits the valuable work they undertake.

In recognition of their work, profits from the sale of her book are being donated to the charity.

On the Hoof – Pony Girl is an inspiring chronicle, illustrating one person’s determination to realise their dreams even when faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It represents the strength of human spirit and also the connection the author has with the animal world and the simple love they provide in a, sometimes, complicated world.

About the author:

Julie Ashby was born in Surrey and grew up in the South East of England with her mother, a single parent. She has always had a love of horses and been a rider since childhood. Without a background of wealth or privilege, she aspired to ride through hard work and horses have always played some part in her life. She came late to writing, and it was not until after serious illness and then during rehabilitation that a conversation with a volunteer, who was a retired newspaper editor, gave her the encouragement to write.

On the Hoof – Pony Girl (published by Shameless Miming Ltd, RRP £7.99 paperback) is
